Update

Update operation iterates over the records of the source table and updates the corresponding record in the target table applying the mapping. The correspondence between a source record and the target record is defined as follows: the target record is identified by Target Table Key Column which value is defined by the mapping.

Parameters:

  • map columns automatically on execution: if checked, the source columns will be automatically mapped to the target columns by exact name comparison.
  • Target -> Write mode: defines the method used to update the data. If omitted, by record is used:
    • bulk: uses the target connector’s native bulk update method. The connector must support this method; otherwise, the operation fails. For Enterworks, bulk updates currently require a business key: select an existing business attribute in Target table key column and map it in Column mapping from a source column or expression providing the corresponding non-empty key values. Each value must uniquely identify an existing target record. The internal itemId is not currently supported as a key for bulk updates.
    • by record: uses the connector’s standard record-based update method, which may group records into batches. For Enterworks, each record is updated through the REST API using its internal itemId. The source values mapped to Target table key column must therefore contain these internal IDs, rather than business key values.

Note on using itemId with an Enterworks source in the bulk mode

For Enterworks, Update in bulk mode does not support itemId as the record identifier. The connector’s CSV import uses business keys; internal translation from itemId to business keys is intentionally omitted to avoid hidden complexity. Select an existing business attribute in Target table key column and map it in Column mapping.
